What is Mine Gems?
Mine Gems is BGaming’s reworking of minesweeper into a climbing game, released in August 2024. Instead of an open grid, it uses a 5×12 field arranged as a 12-step ladder. Each horizontal row hides 4 gems and 1 dynamite. You climb one row at a time, and the further up you go, the higher your multiplier.
It is crash-adjacent rather than a true crash game: the escalating-risk, cash-out-any-time tension is the same, but there is no rising curve and no shared round. The decision is whether to keep climbing for a bigger multiplier or bank what you have.
How Mine Gems Works
- Place your bet.
- Pick one tile in the current row. 4 of the 5 tiles are gems (safe), 1 is dynamite.
- A safe pick advances you up to the next step and a higher multiplier.
- Cash out at any step to lock in that step’s multiplier.
- Hit the dynamite before cashing out and the bet is lost.
Because every row has 4 safe tiles out of 5, each step carries a fixed 80% chance of success. Clearing all 12 steps in one go has a probability of roughly 0.8 to the 12th power, about 6.9%.
The Multiplier Ladder
The multipliers are fixed and visible before you bet, which is unusual and useful. They start at x1.23 on step 1 and rise to the maximum of x14.28 on step 12. There is no adjustable risk setting: the ladder is the same every round, and your only lever is how far you climb.
| Step | Approx multiplier |
|---|---|
| 1 | x1.23 |
| 6 | mid-ladder |
| 12 | x14.28 (max win) |
At 98.4% RTP the house edge is 1.6%, among the lowest in the crash-adjacent category. The trade-off is a low ceiling: the x14.28 max win is small next to grid games like Spribe’s Mines, which can reach several thousand times your stake.
Provably Fair
Mine Gems uses BGaming’s provably fair system. The dynamite positions are committed before the round using a cryptographic hash, so you can verify after each round that they were not moved once your bet was placed. BGaming also exposes real-time RTP data (a Hot/Cold readout) inside the client.
Verdict
Mine Gems is a clean, low-edge climber that suits players who want a simple one-decision-per-row format and the highest possible RTP. The fixed, visible ladder makes it easy to plan a cash-out target before betting. The catch is the x14.28 max win: if you are chasing large multipliers, the open-grid Mines from Spribe gives far more room to run. For steady, transparent, high-RTP play, Mine Gems is a fair pick.
