What is Pigaboom?
Pigaboom (styled Pig-a-Boom in the game) is a crash game built around one idea the genre hadn’t tried: Bonus Buys. The base game is standard crash. A cartoon pig flies up a curve, the multiplier climbs, and you cash out before it goes boom. On top of that you can pay extra on any bet for one of four bonuses that change how the round pays you.
It was created by ARDADOS LTD and is distributed exclusively by X-UP. It’s licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority and certified by Gaming Laboratories International (GLI), which is stricter oversight than most crash games get.
How to Play Pigaboom
- Pick your stake on one or both bet panels. Bets run from €0.10 to €100.
- Add a Bonus Buy if you want one (see below), or play the round as normal.
- Press Bet before the round starts.
- Watch the pig climb. It collects coins as the multiplier rises.
- Cash out before the crash. If the pig explodes first, your stake is lost, but you keep any coins it collected.
AutoPlay on each panel repeats your bet every round. In the demo we didn’t find an auto cashout target, so you need to cash out yourself.
The Four Bonus Buys
Each bonus is bought per bet, at a multiple of your stake.
| Bonus | Cost | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Lock | 2x bet | Lock your current multiplier mid-round. You keep it even if the round crashes, and you can still cash out later for the locked amount plus the live multiplier. |
| Insurance | 3x bet | Before the round you’re offered a random insurance multiplier between 2x and 4x. Accept it and you’re paid that amount whether the round crashes early or not. |
| Wild | 5x bet | You get a random speed boost between 2x and 100x. Your personal multiplier rises that many times faster than the round’s. |
| Boom | 6x bet | You’re paid at whatever multiplier the round crashes at, up to a cap of 150x. No cash-out decision needed. |
Some examples from the game’s own rules. Lock at 5x and the round crashes at 8x: you win 5x. Lock at 5x and cash out at 15x: you win 20x. With a 10x Wild, a round at 5x pays you 50x.
Do Bonus Buys Change the Odds?
No. The developer states the game keeps a 97% RTP whatever you buy. A Bonus Buy changes the shape of your results, not the average. The Boom Bonus, for example, turns every round into a guaranteed payout at the crash point, but at 6x the cost. Over time you lose 3% of everything you wager, and because bonuses multiply your stake, you wager more per round.
Coins, Mystery Drops and Heroes
Coins. While you’re in a round, the pig collects coins along the curve, and they’re yours even if the round crashes. One coin is worth about €0.001, and a bigger stake collects more coins. You can bet with coins instead of cash by switching the balance below the game screen. Coins left unused for a week are removed every Monday and added to the Mystery Box.
Hero Jackpot. Once a round passes 10x, the last three players to cash out before the crash share the Hero Jackpot, with the biggest share going to the last one out. The jackpot is funded from the coin value of players who didn’t collect their coins.
Mystery Rounds. Before some rounds, a Mystery Round is announced. The game picks a target between 4x and 8x. If the round passes it, everyone still in shares a Mystery Drop of coins in proportion to their bet. The bigger the Mystery Box budget, the more often this triggers. Both the Hero Jackpot and the Mystery Box are calculated per casino, so your share depends only on players at your casino.
RTP and House Edge
Pigaboom runs at a 97% RTP, a 3% house edge, in line with Aviator and Spaceman. Rounds are provably fair, and the RNG is certified by GLI.
Maximum Win
The demo’s Game Limits panel lists a maximum win of €40,000 per bet, with stakes from €0.10 to €100. Casinos can set their own limits, so check the Game limits option in the menu before you play.
Verdict
Pigaboom is the most interesting crash game to come out in a while. The Bonus Buys add real decisions without touching the 97% RTP, and coins, heroes and mystery drops give long sessions some texture beyond “cash out at 2x”. Regulation is better than most of the genre too. The catch is the one that comes with any Bonus Buy: paying 2x to 6x your stake per round makes it easy to bet far more than you meant to. Set a budget in cash, not in rounds, and treat the bonuses as a way to play differently, not a way to win more.
